About Me

Hi, I’m Lisa Quigley. I'm a therapist, parent educator, and mother. I hold Master’s degrees in both Social Work and Education and have spent nearly twenty years supporting children, teens and families.

Parenting has a way of stretching you in ways you never imagined. I thought I understood that after years of working with kids and families, and then I had four children of my own, including a set of twins.

Suddenly, all the theory and training I’ve gathered has to live alongside the messy, beautiful, exhausting reality of daily life. I find myself reaching for the same reminders I give the parents I work with: slow down, connect first, and give yourself all the grace.

This lived experience, combined with my training, shapes the way I work with families today. I blend professional expertise with the deep empathy that comes from being in it, too.

From Behaviour Charts to Connection-First Support

I used to be deep in the world of behaviour analysis, wielding charts, rewards, token economies, and jargon. And while that work taught me a lot about how children learn and how we can scaffold new skills, it also taught me something greater: connection matters more than compliance.

These days, my work is rooted in relationship, compassion, and individualization. I don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions or prescriptive parenting scripts. Instead, I help you tune into your child, gently shift perspectives, reflect on what’s really going on beneath the behaviour, and build confidence in responding in ways that work for your family.

My Approach

I work from a relationship-first, neuroaffirming perspective, grounded in developmental science and compassion. My goal is never to “fix” a child, but, rather, to help families understand what’s going on beneath the behaviour (both your child's and yours!) so you can respond in ways that strengthen your connection rather than strain it.

I’m especially passionate about supporting parents of children who are autistic, ADHD, gifted, or twice-exceptional, as well as kids with sensitive nervous systems or behaviours that don’t fit neatly into traditional advice. My work blends evidence-based approaches with a deep respect for your intuition and your family’s unique story.

Professional Background

  • Master of Social Work (MSW)

  • Master of Education (MEd)

  • Registered Social Worker (RSW)

  • Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) member

  • Former Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Over the years, I’ve worked in private practice, community agencies, and on multidisciplinary teams, supporting children and families with a wide range of needs - from emotional regulation and behaviour challenges, to navigating neurodivergence with pride, to collaborating confidently with schools.

Why I Do This Work

I understand how isolating it can feel when parenting doesn’t match the picture you expected, when advice falls flat, when you’re met with judgement instead of understanding, or when you’re quietly wondering if you’re getting it all wrong. I believe you’re doing better than you think, and I know that with the right support, you can feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to your child, even in the hard seasons. If you’re looking for support that’s compassionate, practical, and rooted in both expertise and lived experience, I’d be honoured to work with you.
